ROARING FORK INSIGHT COMMUNITY INTENTIONS

WE ALL BELONG - All of us. Come with your full self.

CONFIDENTIALITY - Take home learnings but don’t identify anyone other than yourself. Now or later. If you want to follow up with anyone regarding something they said, ask first and respect their wishes.

PRACTICE BOTH/AND - When speaking, practice substituting “and” for “but.” This practice acknowledges multiple realities. Speak your truth in ways that respect other people’s truths.

PRACTICE SELF FOCUS - Speak from and about your own experience using “I” statements. Learn to respond to others with honest, open questions.

UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTENT AND IMPACT - Practice understanding and acknowledging that the motivation behind an action may result in an impact, a result, that is not beneficial to self or other.

TRUST AND LEARN FROM SILENCE - Treat silence as a member of the group. After someone has spoken, take time to reflect.

ATTEND TO YOUR INNER TEACHER - Pay close attention to your own reactions and responses. Work on healing your pain, not projecting it.

MOVE UP/MOVE BACK - Encourage full participation by all present. If you tend to speak often, consider “moving back” and vice versa.

SERVICE IN SANGHA - We co-create the things we belong to. Be willing to serve your practice community through authentic service (set up, break down or whatever is needed).

RIGHT TO BE RAGGED - All these considerations are aspirational. We are going to mess up. Commit to being compassionate to yourself and others when we stumble on the path. Work toward healing and accountability on this road to freedom.
